I’ve always felt like my birthday
is more of a cycle shift than the new year

like this is when the real reflection happens

and after what has felt like
a bit of a shit show the last 3–5 years

I can finally feel the shift

I almost put myself last today

The habit we all know too well
The thought: “It will inconvenience them”

And then I paused

What if I didn’t?
What if I actually showed up for me?

So today I did

The appointment

Maybe you’re not stuck
Maybe you’re overwhelmed

Maybe the change you want feels so big

You think it takes a total reinvention
A new personality
A 10-step plan
All
At
Once

But most of the time…

It’s just one small choice

wanting more isn’t the problem
panicking about it is

the fear
the guilt
the old rules
about being grateful enough

the wanting itself
is information

a signal that you’ve changed
that something in you has grown

maybe it’s not abou

I’m learning to care for the part of me that still feels guilty for slowing down

She shows up every time I’m sick, tired, or pushed past my edge

The version of me who still believes rest is something I have to earn

It’s hard to

or pushing through
or pretending you’re fine

it’s about pausing
and turning in
bearing

2026 doesn’t shift because you hope it will
